We bring together Pacific and global health leadership, knowledge, and partnerships to advance research that improves health outcomes across our Blue Pacific continent. Our focus spans infectious and non-communicable diseases, climate and health, maternal and youth wellbeing, and equitable health systems. Our vision is healthier, stronger, thriving, self-sufficient Pacific and global communities.

Meet our Team
At Te Poutoko Ora a Kiwa (Centre for Pacific and Global Health), our leadership reflects deep expertise, lived experience, and a shared commitment to equity, collaboration and Pacific-led solutions. Professor Sir Collin Tukuitonga KNZM, Professor Judith McCool, Li’amanaia Dr Roannie Ng Shiu, and Dr Karaponi Okesene-Gafa bring together decades of collective experience across clinical practice, public health leadership, and Pacific research. Together, they lead and guide Te Poutoko’s mission to drive impactful, culturally grounded, and community-led research for Aotearoa, the Pacific, and beyond.
